Soft Crab Sandwich
Ingredients
- 6 soft shell crabs cleaned
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups coating mixture
- egg wash (2 C. Milk beaten with 3 eggs)
- 6 large sandwich rolls
- 6 slices of fresh tomato
- lettuce
- tartar sauce (opt)
- horseradish cocktail sauce (opt)
- deep fat for frying
Dip softies in flour then egg wash then coating mixture. Fry in deep fat(350 deg) until golden brown drain on paper toweling . Place on sandwich roll with lettuce and tomato serve with cocktail or tartar sauce if desired.
Coating mixture
- 1 c. all purpose flour
- 1 c. cornmeal
- 1 Tbs. Tilghman Island Spice
- 1 t. Garlic powder
- ½ t. Salt
Mix all ingredients
Tilghman Island New Bay Seasoning
- 1 T paprika
- 1 t cayenne pepper
- 1 t garlic powder
- ½ t white pepper
- ½ t thyme
- ½ t oregano
- 1 t salt
- ½ t celery salt
